One day after pulling off a big 7-6 upset victory over Allen County-Scottsville, the Barren County Trojanettes struggled offensively Friday and dropped an 11-0 decision to visiting Metcalfe County.
“I told the girls after the game that I want teams to come out and shoot at us,” said Barren County coach Kevin Jackson. “This meant a lot more to Metcalfe County than it did to us. They saw the score of our game with Allen County.
“I want teams to come after us. But I want to respond to that better than what we did tonight.”
The Lady Hornets jumped on top of Barren County starter Mackenzie Wells right off the bat, scoring two runs in the first inning on a two-run homer by pitcher Tayler McMurtrey.
Metcalfe County added three more runs in the third when third baseman Katie Huffman slammed one to the fence for a two-run double.
