JT Green came up big for the Glasgow High School Scotties Friday night. The hard-throwing righthander had a big day on the mound and at the plate as Green led the Scotties to an impressive 12-1 thumping of baseball powerhouse John Hardin High School.
Green threw a four-hit complete game, allowing only one earned run. And at the plate, he went 2-for-3 on the day with two runs batted in.
The Scotties jumped on top with two runs in the first inning Friday. Camerin Garmon walked and then stole second base. Connor Glass struck out, but reached first when the catcher failed to come up with the ball. Both of them later came around to score on passed balls.
John Hardin scored one run in the bottom of the first, but Glasgow answered with five big runs in the second inning to take a 7-1 lead, an advantage the Scotties would not relinquish.
