Davis signs to run with LWC

GLASGOW — Terry Reed, the veteran cross country and track coach at Barren County High School, has sent many runners off to college over his long coaching career. It is almost a rite of passage, something BCHS runners look forward to.

But Reed had some mixed emotions recently when Ally Davis, a long-time cross country and track standout for the Trojanettes, signed a national letter of intent to run next year at Lindsey Wilson College. Reed was ecstatic that Davis would further her career in college, but also a little sad this would be Davis’ last year to wear the burgundy and gold.

“Ally is one of the most competitive athletes I have ever coached because all she knows is to try and be her very best,” said Reed. “She always works hard, and when things don’t go very well, she doesn’t get upset, but she works hard to get better.

“Ally also raises the level of expectations of everyone else on the team because she has such high expectations of herself.”
