Barren County Pride ended their run in the Cal Ripken 9-year-old Western Kentucky State Tournament with a 10-5 loss to Germantown on Sunday afternoon.
The Pride had won two games in pool play, beating Allen County and Grayson County, but lost to St. Matthews.
That set up and elimination game Sunday in bracket play of the tournament.
Team coach Derrick Williams said despite the outcome, his players had a good run.
“We wanted each player to be a better player in the end than when they started,” he said. “Every kid has improved some way, some how.”
