Eighth-grade pitcher Dalton Shoemake looked like anything but an eighth-grader Wednesday night when he led the Glasgow High School Scotties to a 4-3 baseball victory over Campbellsville in eight innings.
Shoemake went seven innings, faced 27 batters and gave up three runs, two were earned. He allowed five hits and struck out four.
Shoemake got some help from Glasgow’s offensive punch, including Shives’ big hit in the eighth inning.
After holding the Tigers in the top of the eighth inning, JT Green walked and went to second when Cord Glass was hit by a pitch.
Michael Poore then sacrificed both runners over a base, and Shives followed with a walk-off RBI single to bring Green in for the winning run.
