The Franklin-Simpson Wildcats outscored Glasgow 16-10 in an overtime period Thursday night to pick up a hard-fought 73-67 victory over the Scotties in the final regular season basketball game for both teams.
Glasgow rallied from an early 9-point deficit to send the game into overtime on a 3-pointer by Ryne Tinsley. But the Scotties couldn’t keep the momentum going and were forced to settle for the 7-point loss.
“The 1-3-1 zone Franklin-Simpson runs is a little difficult to play against,” said Glasgow coach John Tinsley. “You don’t see it every day. It took us a little while to settle in against it. I thought we did a better job against it in the second half. I thought we showed a lot of guts coming back to give ourselves a chance to win.”
