Trojan standout Dunbar signs to run with CU

GLASGOW — Barren County High School senior Mason Dunbar will continue his running career next year at Campbellsville University. Dunbar signed his letter of intent Wednesday afternoon.

Dunbar comes from a family of runners, and they all gathered around him Wednesday to celebrate his decision to attend Campbellsville. Dunbar has known he wanted to be a runner since he watched his older sister, Kaley, run for BCHS, he said.

BCHS track and cross country coach Terry Reed coached both of Dunbar’s parents in running, his sister and other relatives, he said, and he has enjoyed coaching all of them.

“They’re wonderful people to work with because they’re willing to do what you ask,” Reed said.

Dunbar is very dedicated and committed to reaching his goals, Reed said, and he has been an asset to the BCHS cross country and track teams.

“It’s been a joy to coach Mason, because he’s such an example for others to follow,” Reed said.
