The Glasgow High School Lady Scotties are in the championship game of the Fourth Region All “A” Classic for the fourth consecutive year.
Thursday night at Clinton County High School in Albany, the Lady Scotties were focused on defense in the second half, which sparked their transition game and pushed them to a 21-point (73-52) win over Russellville.
“We had good energy in the second half, which was something we didn’t have in the first half,” Glasgow girls’ head coach Justin Stinson said. “We were denying passes on defense and sprinted the floor in transition.”
The Lady Scotties will face Monroe County in Friday's regional final.
Lady Falcons 65, Lady Bulldogs 43
Monroe County rolled to victory over Clinton County in the second game Thursday night.
The Lady Falcons wasted little time in taking control of the game, outscoring the host Lady Bulldogs 21-12 in the first quarter.
The victory lifted Monroe to the regional title game against Glasgow. It is also the fourth consecutive year the Lady Falcons are in the title game.
They have beaten the Lady Scotties in the last two meetings in the All “A” regional championship after losing to them in 2010.
