The Barren County Trojanettes entered Friday night’s homecoming and Pink Out night game with seven fewer wins than their opponents.
The Franklin–Simpson Lady Wildcats were 11-4 coming into the game at BCHS, while Barren was 4-8. For the first 16 minutes of the contest, it looked as if the teams’ records might not be as advertised. The Trojanettes ran an effective offense, while playing solid defense and led by as many as 11 points in the first half.
But they couldn’t carry through in the second half and eventually lost 46-40 to the Lady Wildcats.
After falling behind 7-3, Barren reeled off a 10-0 run to close the first quarter with a 13 to 7 lead. To open the second quarter, the Trojanettes again gave Franklin-Simpson all they wanted on the court . Led by Kaitlin Wyatt’s ball handling and sharpshooting, Barren County led the game 23 to 12 with less than five minutes until halftime.
