The Barren County Trojanettes picked up a 10-run win over Logan County on Thursday.
The Trojanettes scored their 10 runs in the first three innings of the game, which was cut short by the mercy rule.
An RBI double by Brilee Houchens and an RBI single by Kennedy Logsdon during the first inning and an RBI double by Hadleigh Hammer, a two-run single by Shelby Wood, and an RBI single by Logsdon in the second inning fueled Barren County’s offense early.
Wood racked up three RBIs on two hits for the game.
Logsdon kept Logan County off the scoreboard for all five innings she was on the rubber. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out three.
Victoria Cates was charged with the loss. She allowed 10 runs in four innings, walked six and struck out three.
The Trojanettes built upon their lead with four runs in the third. A wild pitch scored Natalie Staples to open the scoring in the frame.
Also for Barren, Hannah Ward had two singles, Maggie Bellamy had one single.
The Trojanettes improved to 9-5 with the win. They are scheduled to play this weekend in the Greenwood Border Battle tournament. They are scheduled to play Calloway County at 11 a.m. and another opponent to be named at 2 p.m.
