The Glasgow Scotties did exactly what they had to Friday night — win a district game and get out of Clinton County without injuries.
“We had a good night. We got the lead early, everybody played and nobody got hurt,” Glasgow head football coach Rick Wood said after his team’s 62-0 win in Albany.
The Scotties scored on all seven of their first-half possessions and returned a punt for a touchdown, ending a streak of not scoring in two games.
While Clinton County didn’t have the same caliber of defense as Glasgow’s last two opponents —Class 2A power Somerset and historic rival Monroe County — Wood said Friday’s game was more about his players executing with focus on offense and defense.
“We just wanted to execute. We are trying to get our kids to focus on what we run and how we run it,” the coach said. “We want them to focus on getting better every day.”
