Matchups made for district tournaments

GLASGOW — Pairings for area district baseball and softball tournaments have been set.

The 15th District baseball tournament opens with top-seeded Glasgow (21-7, 6-0) against No. 4 Monroe County (10-11, 0-6) at 6 p.m. May 19. On May 20, second-seeded Allen County-Scottsville (10-20, 3-3) will play No. 3 Barren County (15-14, 3-3) at 6 p.m.

The championship game will be 6 p.m. May 22. All games are at Barren County High School and team records are as of Wednesday.

Both 15th District softball tournament first round games will be played May 19.

Top-seed Allen County (16-12, 5-0) opens at 5:30 p.m. Against Monroe County (1-17, 0-5), while No. 2 seed Glasgow (17-13, 4-2) plays Barren County (15-12, 2-4) at 7:30 p.m.

The softball championship game will be played at 5:30 p.m. May 20.

The 16th District softball and baseball tournaments also begin on May 19. They will both be played at Clinton County High School.

No. 1 seed Russell County (19-6, 6-0) opens against Clinton County (9-13, 0-6) at 5:30 p.m. May 19, then, at 7:30 p.m., Metcalfe County (5-15, 3-3) plays Cumberland County (10-17, 3-3). The championship game will be 7:15 p.m. May 20.

Also beginning May 19 is the 16th District softball tournament.

No. 1 seed Cumberland County (20-8, 5-1) opens at 5:30 p.m. against Metcalfe County (11-15, 1-5), while Russell County (16-7, 4-2) plays Clinton County (6-17, 2-4) at 7 p.m.

The championship game will be 5:30 p.m. May 20.

First-round winners advance to their respective regional tournaments the following week at Western Kentucky University.
