Barren County dropped a 15th District softball game at Allen County-Scottsville on Wednesday. The contest was one that had been rescheduled from earlier in the week when storms moved through the area.
Kennedy Logsdon had a big day at the plate for Barren, going 2 for 4, which included a triple and a single, but the Lady Patriots still won 9-2.
Logsdon led off the game with a single in the first. Her triple came in the third inning.
Autmum Morgan got the win for Allen, allowing two runs over seven innings. She struck out two, walked none and gave up five hits.
Allen County’s Mallory Marr, Kirsten Ogles and Kalee Skaggs combined for six hits and two RBIs.
Makenzie Wells took the loss for the Trojanettes. She allowed seven runs in five innings, walked one and struck out one.
The Lady Patriots jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second.
The lead stayed with Allen after the fifth, when it scored five runs on a two-run double by Morgan, an RBI single by Ogles, and two triples.
For Barren, Katy Bridges, Natalie Staples and Maggie Bellamy had one single each.
