Barren County Trojans to face No. 1 Bowling Green

GLASGOW — Jason Esters, the head football coach at Barren County High School, has never walked away from a challenge. Esters, who played for BCHS, is a very competitive person and his team has taken on the coach’s personality.

That’s why even though the odds are stacked against the Trojans this Friday when they play host to the Bowling Green Purples, the No. 1 team in Class 5A, no one in the Barren County camp is anything other than positive about the game. In fact, the Trojans are ready to get to it.

“Practice this week has been upbeat. Since I have been back, this is the second year we’ve had to play Warren Central and Bowling Green back-to-back,” Esters explained. “ And it is difficult. But the kids have responded well. We’ve had a pretty good week of practice. Hopefully, we will build upon the positives from last week’s game and do those things even better this week. The ultimate goal is to win the football game.”

Kickoff at Trojan Field is set for 7 p.m.
