The Allen County-Scottsville Lady Patriots, when the chips were down, came up big Tuesday afternoon when they blanked visiting Barren County 6-0 in softball action. The win moves the Lady Patriots into a tie with the Trojanettes atop the District 15 standings at 3-1.
“Our girls got a little down after the loss at Barren County last week and I told them they were going to have to work through it,” said ACS coach Robert Bunton. “Today, I thought they did their jobs. We played decent, but we could have played better.”
“When you have pretty good evenly matched teams like tonight, one team made some plays in the field and we didn’t,” said Barren County coach Kevin Jackson. “And give Allen County credit, they took advantage of that. We opened the door today and they kicked it down.”
