Barren River Lake is still eight feet over summer pool, standing at 560.46 feet Wednesday morning. The level crested at 10 feet over at 562 on July 11. Naturally, the high water has closed all the lake’s beaches which the American Corps of Engineers had opened just in time for the July 4th holiday.
From what I’m told, fishing has still been pretty good on several species. Bass fishing is best at night, or early and late on crank baits and plastics.
