Caverna Colonels begin key stretch of football season

GLASGOW — Rodney Middleton, the head football coach at Caverna High School, wants to win every game. He’s just that competitive. However, Middleton knows his team’s next three games, all at home, could be the most important games of the season for the Colonels.

Caverna begins the stretch with Hart County on Friday and will follow that with games against Clinton County and Breckinridge County. Though he’s taking one game at a time, Middleton knows these next three contests could go a long way toward determining the outcome of his season.

“The next three games are at home, then we get into the district,” Middleton said. “These next three games are vital for us and will say a lot about how we go into the district. We could go into the district with a 3-3 record and with some confidence. We need that because to me the district is wide open.”
