I had another great day Monday on the Cumberland River. I was accompanied Brother Ed and had two limits of trout by midday, mostly trolling No. 4 crank baits. Nothing huge and no browns and brookies, but I had a nice bunch for the table.
The river was just a little high but very fishable. I put in at Burkesville and fished mostly downstream.
We had a wonderful day except for a few mishaps. The first trout I caught pulled the hook out of my bait and it ended up in the tip of my index finger, first blood of the day.
Then taking out at the ramp, old stumble feet made a misstep and ended up falling backward into the boat. No real damage but I scraped a bait on the back of a leg as I was going down and drew the red stuff again while almost pulling Ed into the river. I’m sure he was happy to see me back on dry land.
