Laurence Nyekan, the head boys’ soccer coach at Barren County High School, knew going into Tuesday’s championship game of the District 15 Soccer Tournament that possessing the ball, keeping the ball under control on offense, would be key for his team.
Nyekan’s premonition was correct as the Trojans played steady for two halves to claim a 4-2 victory over Glasgow High School.
“It was a big win for us. I am excited about it, especially for our seniors. It is all about them,” said Nyekan. “We did a good job of passing the ball in the midfield tonight. Our midfield really stepped up for us.”
