In a heated soccer rivalry match that saw several yellow cards, a red card and the ejection of a fan, the Barren County High School Trojans blanked the Glasgow High School Scotties 2-0 last Saturday in the third place match of the Barren County Trojan Classic.
“We started very slow tonight,” said Barren County coach Laurence Nyekan. “Our intensity was not there early tonight and we didn’t do a good job of working the ball. After about the first 15 minutes, we started working the ball and looking for options. And we communicated well.”
Frustrated about the way the match was officiated, Glasgow coach Joe Mercer said after the match all he wanted to say was, “I am proud of my kids.”
