After going through a murderous swing in their schedule that included softball powerhouses such as Bowling Green, Greenwood, Allen County-Scottsville, Apollo, Logan County, Muhlenberg County and Central Hardin, the Glasgow High School Lady Scotties got back on the winning track Tuesday with a 13-1 District 15 victory over Monroe County.
“Considering our schedule, it was just big for us to get a win tonight,” said Glasgow coach Steven Murphy. “We came out and played well early and I think that was important.”
The Lady Scotties started putting runs on the scoreboard in the very first inning when Kelsey Greer led off the game with a solo homer. McKenna Wood and Haven Hernandez followed with back-to-back singles. Taylor Williams then followed with a two-run double to give Glasgow a 3-0 advantage.
