Barren River Lake level stood at 542.6 feet Wednesday morning, 10 feet below summer pool, which the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers hopes to reach by April 15. Fishing has been iffy for many because of the wind, but I’m told some decent catches of both bass and crappie have been coming in for those willing to fight the conditions. Some crappie fishing friends have been having trouble with the wind at Kentucky Lake this week and the ‘Oldtimers’ are planning a trip there next week. Hopefully, conditions will improve for both groups.
