Trojans lose two close ones in Florida

GLASGOW — The Barren County High School Trojans have been in two real battles so far during their trip to Florida this week for the annual Florida Baseball Beach Bash.

The Trojans dropped a 1-0 decision to Bellbrook, Ohio, on Monday, after losing 2-1 to Lexington Lafayette in the first game of the tournament.

Andy Highbaugh got the start for the Trojans Monday. He went two innings, giving up one hit and striking out two. Andrew Hughes came on in relief and pitched well. He allowed one run on only three hits. He also struck out 10. Bellbrook scored its only run in the sixth inning.

Britt Crabtree led Barren County with two hits in three trips to the plate against Bellbrook. Barrett Billingsley went 1-for-3 for the Trojans.

Barren County will face Campbellsville at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
