GLASGOW — For Barren County coach John Butler, the score of Friday night’s 58-29 loss to Franklin-Simpson is a little deceiving.

Butler is, of course, very competitive, but he thought his young team played pretty well against the very talented Lady Wildcats.

“The score is a little deceiving,” Butler said. “We actually played very well until the end of the game. That’s when we kind of lost all of our guns. But Franklin-Simpson is very good.”

Barren County jumped out on top early and led 16-15 at the end of the first period.

But Franklin-Simpson, one of the top teams in the Fourth Region, responded by outscoring the Trojanettes 20-5 in the second quarter to take a 35-21 advantage into the locker room.

Emily Blair led the Trojanettes with nine points. Kennedy Logsdon had seven points and Taylor Davis scored five.

Reanna Poynter scored four points for BCHS, while Madison Hume scored three and Rachael Fields had one.

The Trojanettes are on the road next week.

They visit Warren East Tuesday and Monroe County on Friday.
