Glasgow's Landrum fires 77 in first round of state championship

BOWLING GREEN — After struggling over the front nine Tuesday afternoon, Glasgow High School’s Chase Landrum fired over par the last nine holes to finish with a 5-over, 77 in the first round of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Boys State Golf Tournament at the Bowling Green Country Club.

“It was just one of those days when I didn’t have my game,” said Landrum, making his third straight appearance in the final tournament of the year. “On the front nine, I didn’t hit any fairways, I didn’t hit any greens and I didn’t putt well. On the back nine, I hit the fairways and I hit the greens.”

Landrum finished tied for 20th in the individual standings. West Jessamine’s Fred Meyer leads the pack with a 4-under 68. The final round of the tournament is set for Wednesday.
