The Barren County Trojans were victorious against the Cumberland County Panthers on Friday evening, winning 76-51.
At the end of the first period, the Trojans started a good lead, scoring 20 points against the Panthers' 7. Once halftime came around, Barren County scored a commanding 57 points and Cumberland scored 20. During the third quarter, the Trojans continued their lead 57-38.
BCHS’ Charley McCoy was best on offense for the night, scoring 20 points. Barrett Billingsley chipped in 15, while Wade Coomer and Sawyer Matthews got a dozen a piece. Ben Leftwich helped the offense with 11, while Bo Hubbard chipped in 6. Zach Mabe scored 5. Ty Hay and Mason Perkins got 2 each. Michael Belcher tipped in 1.
Clinton County rolls over Monroe County
Steve Kirkpatrick, Monroe County High School boy's basketball coach, said they "got beat in every aspect" against the Clinton County Bulldogs on Friday, losing 79-44.
At the conclusion of the first period, the score was 19-10, Clinton County. During the second quarter, the Bulldogs had double the amount of points as the Falcons; leading 41-20. After three quarters, Clinton County led 55-31 and the Bulldogs held on for the 35-point win.
Devin Gearlds led the Falcon offense by scoring 10 points. Dillon Geralds got 8. Gibril Summers and Skyler Geralds tipped in 5 points a piece. William Goodman got 4. Lincoln Arnett and Noah Curtis helped with 3 each. Garrett Crowe got 2, as did Kale Rich. Caleb Veach and Kolton Myatt scored one point each.
Barren County Trojanettes pick up another victory
The Barren County Trojanettes barely slid past the Cumberland County Lady Panthers Friday night, winning 67-64.
The Trojannettes looked like the better team during the first period, scoring 19 points against Cumberland's two. At halftime, the score was 35-22, the Trojanettes still held the advantage. It was 53-41 Barren County at the end of the third quarter. During the fourth period, the Trojanettes let the game get close, but held on for the win.
Reanna Poynter scored in the double digits with 22 points, while Taylor Davis scored 14. Deanie Pedigo chipped in 8 and Kennedy Logsdon got 11. Emily Blair scored 5, while Maddie Costlow helped out with 2.
