The Barren County Trojans hung on for a 69-67 overtime victory over Glasgow Saturday night in a key District 15 contest. Even though both teams had their chances to win in regulation, the Trojans outscored the Scotties 9-7 in the extra period to secure the win.
Bo Hubbard led Barren County in scoring with 18 points, including a perfect 8 for 8 from the field. Ben Leftwich had 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Charley McCoy scored 10 points. Wade Coomer added 10 points, while Barrett Billingsley had eight and Nick and Zach Mabe had four points each.
Glasgow put four players in double figures, highlighted by a 20-point effort from Anthony Walker. James Kingery and Connor Glass added 11 points each, while Milas Norris had 10. Jacob Poynter chipped in with seven points, and Quentel Bradley and Julius Shirley scored four points apiece.
The victory put the Trojans in a tie with Monroe County for first in the district. Each team is 4-2 on the season. Glasgow and Allen County-Scottsville are also tied for third in the district standings, sporting 2-4 records.
The draw for the upcoming District 15 tournament, which will be played at Glasgow, will be Wednesday night.
