The Glasgow Lady Scotties won their 20th game of the season Saturday night with a 75-51 victory over crosstown rival and District 15 foe Barren County.
"“I thought our kids and Barren County's kids fought really hard. They battled and a lot of credit goes to Barren County. Kids like Deanie Pedigo didn't play last time we played and she makes a big difference. She is certainly a terrific player” said Glasgow coach Justin Stinson. “I thought Reanna Poynter was just outstanding for them. We really didn't have an answer for her. A lot of credit goes to Barren County.”"
“We played well the whole game. In the second half we just couldn't stop them," said Barren County coach John Butler. "We only had 11 turnovers tonight and I just thought our competitiveness was better than it's been in the past against district teams.
"Glasgow is hard to guard, very hard to guard. We had a hard time stopping them. For us, I thought we played very, very well and I am very pleased . I am not happy we got beat, but I am pleased we competed well."
Glasgow scoring: Shalika Smith 21, Bree Glover 17, Kaylyn Hale 12, Emily Alexander and Elli Bartley 6 each, Heidi Holgate and Ashley Smith 4 apiece, Skyler Burd and Hydeia Depp 2 each, and Allie Chapman 1.
Barren County scoring: Reanna Poynter 23, Kennedy Logsdon 11, Deanie Pedigo 10, Taylor Davis 3, Maddie Costlow and Alaina Rodriguez 2 each.
