The Monroe County Falcons (14-7) will be looking to get back on the winning track on Tuesday when they visit Glasgow (11-9) for a big District 15 basketball matchup.
Monroe County split its last two games, rolling over Cumberland County 78-43, while losing to Bowling Green last week by a score of 67-55.
Tuesday’s matchup will be Homecoming at Glasgow High School and the boys’ game will be played first at 6 p.m. The girls’ game will start at approximately 7:45 p.m.
Hubbard leads BCHS to win over Todd Co.
The Barren County Trojans got a double-double from Bo Hubbard over the weekend to lead BCHS to a 68-43 victory over Todd County Central. Hubbard had 12 points and 10 rebounds.
“Bo’s energy really set the tone for us,” said Barren County coach Warren Cunningham.
The Trojans held a 38-27 lead at the intermission and then held Todd County Central scoreless in the third period to take a 53-27 advantage into the final eight minutes.
Ben Leftwich scored 17 points on the night for Barren County. Charley McCoy added 15.
The Trojans will host Greenwood on Tuesday and Hart County on Friday. BCHS will then visit Glasgow on Saturday before hosting Russell County on Feb. 11.
Lady Falcons knock off Cumberland County
The Monroe County Lady Falcons roared past the Cumberland County Lady Panthers 77-36 last Friday.
The offensive charge started in the first period and didn’t let up until the final buzzer sounded. Monroe County led 15-5 at the end of the first quarter.
At halftime, the Falcons kept the lead at 34-18. It was 58-29 at the end third quarter.
Lauren Turner led the Lady Falcons with 15 points, while Payton Cloyd scored 13 points. Reagan Turner chipped in 12. Lakota Ethridge got 10 and Kelsey Johnson helped out with 9.
Kayla Murray scored 8. Kelliemae Polston and Kelsey Kirkpatrick tallied four points each. Ashlee McGeorge made two.
