There will be some very good tournament basketball being played next week when the annual All A Classic Regional Basketball Tournament begins on Monday.
Glasgow High School will be one of three opening-round sites for the Fourth Region Girls’ and Boys’ Tournament, while Caverna High School will host an opening round game for the Fifth Region tournament.
The Lady Scotties will play Metcalfe County at 6 p.m on Monday, while the Scotties and the Hornets will play the second game of the evening, beginning at approximately 7:30 p.m.
In other first round games, Russellville will visit Cumberland County and Monroe County will visit Clinton County. Both games will begin at 6 p.m.
The semifinals will be at Todd County Central High School in Elkton with the host Lady Rebels playing the winner of the Cumberland County-Russellville winner. The girls will play Wednesday with the boys playing on Thursday. Games will be at 6 and 7:30 p.m. on both nights.
The girls’ and boys’ championship games will be Friday night at Todd County Central, if TCCHS has a team in the championship game.
Caverna High School will host Campbellsville in the opening round of the Fifth Region Tournament. The girls’ game will begin at 6 p.m. with the boys’ game starting at 7:30 p.m.
In the other first round game, Bethlehem will play at Green County.
The semifinals will be at Washington County High School in Springfield with the girls playing on Tuesday and the boys playing on Thursday. Semifinals games will be at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The Caverna-Campbellsville winner will play Washington County with the Bethlehem-Green County winner taking on Fort Knox.
The Fifth Region Tournament championship games will be Friday night. The girls’ game will begin at 6 p.m. with the boys’ final starting at 7:30 p.m.
The teams are playing for the honor of participating in the Touchstone Energy All “A” Classic State Tournament Jan. 29-Feb. 2 at the Frankfort Convention Center.
