3:25 AFTERNOON UPDATE: Jeff Hall takes over at Caverna

HORSE CAVE — Caverna High School's new boys basketball coach is a familiar name to area hoops fans.

Jeff Hall, who coached Glasgow High School from 2008 to 2012, was revealed as the new coach of the Colonels during a press conference on Friday afternoon.

In four years at Glasgow, the Scotties were 78-30 and reached the Fourth Region Tournament semifinals twice.

Hall said he took a couple of years off from coaching, in which time he has begun selling insurance. He will not be a teacher at the small school that serves as an independent district for the communities of Horse Cave and Cave City, but will serve as a para-professional coach.

The former University of Louisville Cardinal has a championship ring from when, as a player, he helped the Denny Crum coached team capture a national title in 1986. He was also a high school coach for present NBA star O.J. Mayo at Rose Hill Christian School in eastern Kentucky.
