Trojanettes fall to Franklin-Simpson Lady Wildcats

GLASGOW — Kennedy Logsdon allowed just two runs on Friday at Franklin-Simpson, but Barren County couldn’t get the offense going in a 7-2 defeat to Franklin-Simpson.

Shelby Franklin got the win for the Lady Wildcats. She allowed two runs over seven innings. Shelby struck out six, walked one and gave up eight hits.

Makenzie Wells couldn’t get it done on the rubber for the Trojanettes, taking a loss. She walked one, struck out none, and allowed five runs.

Logsdon also pitched in the game and gave up two runs.

The bottom of the second saw Franklin-Simpson take an early lead, 1-0. A single by Caitlin Crawford, scoring Morgan Moyers, started the inning off.

Barren County took a 2-1 lead in the top of the fifth inning after a double by Cheyenne Cumberland scored two Trojanettes.

Franklin-Simpson retook the lead in the bottom of the fifth, scoring six runs on two errors and an RBI single by Drew Knight.

Logsdon and Deleashia Reynolds had two singles each. Abby Elmore, Natalie Staples and Katy Bridges had one single each for Barren County.
