Poynter helps BCHS 'swat' Lady Hornets

GLASGOW — She doesn’t play a lot of minutes, but Reanna Poynter made the most of her time on the floor Tuesday night. Poynter, a backup center for the Barren County High School Trojanettes, had 14 points, pulled down nine rebounds and blocked 18 shots to lead BCHS to a 51-44 victory over visiting Metcalfe County.

“Reanna Poynter is really starting to play well. She has improved so much just over the last month or so,” said Barren County coach John Butler. “She knows how to play the game and I was really proud of her. She can be a big difference maker for us because she passes so well and her size, obviously, causes some teams trouble.

“I also thought Taylor Davis, a freshman off the bench, was tremendous tonight, too. Taylor was very active and played with a lot of energy. We’re getting a lot of production from our bench.”
