Barren County High School Trojanettes lost their game Tuesday night by 18 points to the Greenwood Gators, with a final score of 59 to 41.
The Trojans did well in the first quarter with 17 points, but things seemed to dwindle from that point on with 10 points in the second quarter, 2 in the third quarter and 12 in the fourth quarter.
Greenwood scored only 8 points in the first quarter, but made up for it by scoring 21 in the second quarter, 17 in the third and 13 in the fourth.
Lead scorers for the Trojans were: Kesley Cummings, 11; Kennedy Logsdon, 4; Kaitlyn Wyatt, 4; Deanie Pedigo, 11; Kelsay Manion, 6; Taylor Davis, 3; and Reanna Poynter 2.
Coach John Butler noted after the game that Pedigo had 10 rebounds and scored 11 points. Wyatt had a career high in rebounds with 11.
The Trojanettes rebounded the Gators 45 to 24 and turned the game over 30 times, Butler said.
BCHS Trojans won its game against the Gators with a final score of 87 to 71.
The Trojans scored big in the first quarter with 22 points, followed by 27 in the second quarter, 12 in the third and 26 in the fourth quarter.
Greenwood scored 19 points in the first quarter, 17 in the second, 10 in the third and 25 in the fourth quarter.
Lead scorers for the Trojans were: Clay Simmons, 22; Jaucoby Poore, 14; Charlie McCoy, 18; Dalton Bush, 11; Ben Leftwich, 7; Bo Hubbard, 6; Matthew Bunnell, 6; Kyle Marr, 1; and Nick Mabe, 2.
“I think we scored the ball pretty well throughout the game and had really good balance,” said Coach Warren Cunningham.
