When the American Legion Post 65 Mustangs tangled with Somerset Thursday in the championship game of the American Legion District Tournament, the suspense was over early.
The Mustangs put two runs on the board in the first inning and never looked back as they rolled to a 12-1 victory.
“We knew Somerset would be a tough game for us,” said Post 65 Coach Tracy Arnett.
“But we thought if we were able to beat them yesterday, then they would have to play another game before we played them in the finals and if we could do that, we thought we would have a big advantage today because we have so much pitching.”
