GLASGOW TENNIS: Lady Scotties down Warren East on senior night

GLASGOW — It was senior night Thursday for the Glasgow girls’ tennis team and they rewarded themselves with a 3-2 win over Warren East.

Seniors Rebekah Kayser, Morgan Mills and Pooja Santapuram were honored before the match for their contributions to the Lady Scotties’ program.

“The Lady Scotties pulled out a 3-2 win with one incredible three-set victory by Megan Jones and Blair Correll,” Glasgow coach Lora Garrett explained.

The doubles tandem won the set 6-4, but fell in their second set against Clark and Davidson 2-6. They rallied to win the third set 7-5.

Palmer Lessenberry provided a win for Glasgow in singles, beating Renee Mager 6-3, 6-0. Also, Sloan Bull won for Glasgow, beating Jill Renfro 8-2.

Madison Correll dropped a singles match 5-8 to Lauren Hayes, while Kayser and Santapuram fell to Hayes and Gilbert in doubles, 7-9.

Next week, the Lady Scotties travel across town to Barren for a match Monday and they are scheduled to host Monroe County on Tuesday night at Gorin Park.
