Both Barren County tennis teams picked up wins Thursday afternoon.
The Trojanettes downed Cumberland County 3-2, while the boys’ team won 2-1.
In the girls’ match, it was in doubles where Barren sealed the win. Brooke Simmons and Danielle Nunn defeated Allen and Long 8-0, while Brie Simmons and Mallie Wells teamed to defeat Spears and Flowers 8-3.
In singles, Madison Kerley beat Emilia Allen 8-2, while Rebecca Hurley lost to Laura Kirk 2-8 and Hope Declared fell to Madison Cash 2-8.
In exhibition singles, Mackenzie Alvey beat Sierra Long 8-1; Brittany Shirley lost to Jackie Setting 3-8; and Maggie Casteel beat Brittany Arnett 8-1.
In exhibition doubles, Kylee Pipgrass and Courtney Lyons teamed to win for Barren.
The Trojans downed the Panthers 2-1 behind a win in singles and a win in doubles.
Grant Gardner defeated Houston Williams 5-7, 6-0, 1-0 (10-5), while Hayden Rickard and Ethan Kiteck downed Scott and Finley 6-0, 6-4. Barren’s Tristan Shaw lost Isaac Allen 1-6, 7-5, 0-1 (3-10).
