Monroe County expecting 'physical' game with ACS

GLASGOW — With the football playoffs just one week away, Monroe County coach John Petett would be ecstatic if the Falcons could close out their regular season with a patsy, a pushover, an easy victory. He would love to have a cake walk of a game in the season finale as he begins getting his team ready for the postseason.

But that’s not the case for the Falcons. Monroe County’s regular season finale Friday is on the road at Allen County-Scottsville. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

“This is always a very physical, hard-fought game. It is a tough game to have for the last game of the year,” said Petett. “It is a physical, brutal battle and it always has been. We’ve played when we both have had good records and we’ve played when we both have had bad records. And, we’ve played when one team has a better record than the other. It doesn’t seem to matter, it’s always comes down to a one- or two-possession game.”
