GLASGOW — It really all depends on how you look at things.

Jason Esters and the Barren County High School Trojans travel to Bowling Green Friday night to visit the Bowling Green Purples in a Class 5A, District 2 football matchup. The Trojans come into the game with a 1-4 record, while the Purples are currently undefeated in four outings and ranked the No. 1 team in the state.

Some football coaches in Ester’s shoes might not see much to be positive about in that scenario. However, Esters looks at Friday’s game as an opportunity, an opportunity to shock a lot of people.

“We’ve been trying to keep them loose. We’ve been preaching to them this week that no one thinks we can win Friday night, but very few teams even have the opportunity to play the No. 1 team in the state,” Esters said.

“We have the opportunity to shock the state of Kentucky."
