After jumping out to an early lead, the Barren County Trojans had to hold on to beat Warren Central 11-8 in baseball action Monday night.
“We scored nine, I think, in the fourth inning and then we scored another one in the fifth and we led 10-1 after five innings,” said Barren County coach Johnny Vance.
“We just walked too many batters. We didn’t really make a lot of errors, we just let them back in the ballgame.”
Josh Owen got the start on the mound for the Trojans and went five innings. Cole Scott came on in relief and Cole Payne closed out the game to secure the win.
The Trojans must now prepare for a key District 15 battle on Tuesday when Monroe County visits Trojan Field. The first pitch is set for 5 p.m.
