Glasgow girls beat Cumberland County to go 4-2 on the year

GLASGOW — The Glasgow Lady Scotties improved their overall season record to 4-2 recently with a 6-2 tennis victory over Cumberland County. Glasgow had little trouble with the Lady Panthers, winning three of the five singles matches and all three doubles matches.

Brooklyn Brown got it started for Glasgow when she beat Laura Kirk 8-1 at the No. 1 singles position. Cumberland County evened the match when Katie Peretto beat Sloan Bull 8-6 at No. 2. Glasgow came back to win the next two matches. Rebekah Kayser beat Haylee Long 8-0 at No. 3 and Victoria Watson knocked off Madison Cash 6-4 at the No. 4 position. Cumberland County picked up its second victory of the day when Emilia Allen beat Kira Harvey, 6-0.

Glasgow gave up only one game in doubles action. Megan Jones and Blair Correll won their match at No. 1 by a score of 8-0. Madison Correll and McKenzie Frasier followed suit at No. 3 with an 8-0 tally. Pooja Santapuram and Morgan Mills  took an 8-1 victory at the No. 2 doubles.

The Lady Scotties had four exhibition victories in doubles play.

The teams included: Emmalee Lawrence and HollyAnn Carter, Kaylie Howard and Lindsey Webb, Katie Jones and Emily Benningfield, and Grayson Botts. and Reagan Bowles.
