Three local swimmers competed in their final home competition Wednesday night when Glasgow High School, Barren County and Allen County-Scottsville took part in a tri-match at the YMCA.
Glasgow's Meghan Taylor, and Barren County's Paige London competed in their final home meet before a packed house. Trojan senior Chris Marshall couldn't swim Wednesday because of an illness.
“I have been doing this for 13 years, so it is sad, but very bittersweet,” said Taylor, the daughter of Tag Taylor and Becky Erwin. “This year has shown me what I need to work for and who I need to work for. It is sad that I am swimming my last year at Glasgow High School.
“I am definitely older than the other kids on the team and I hope I have been a good leader to them. I hope that I have been able to help them by the way I have acted this season. It is a lot of pressure to be a team leader, but I really like that pressure.”
Barren County won the girls’ competition with 111 points. Allen County Scottsville was second with 91 points and Glasgow was third with 81. ACS won the boys’ division with 140 points. Barren County was second at 69. GHS did not compete in the boys’ division.
