Lady Scotties win

Glover, Depp, Alexander, Phelps shine in victory

GLASGOW — The Glasgow Lady Scotties continue to play well in the team’s summer basketball league.

The Glasgow varsity team traveled to Campbellsville earlier this week for games with Wayne County and North Hardin.

The Lady Scotties beat Wayne County, 42-40, but lost to North Hardin by a score of 32-17.

Kelsey Greer did not play in either game.

“We did not play well against North Hardin.  We got pushed around and were not in attack mode,” said Glasgow coach Justin Stinson.

“However, we competed well against Wayne County and was able to pick up the win over a really good team.  We really set the tone with our defense against Wayne County and that is something we are going to have to do every game this year.  We expect to be an outstanding defensive team.”

On Thursday, the Lady Scotties picked up a big 51-33 win over Greenwood at Barren County High School.

“This was one of our better games of the summer.  Breanna Glover had an exceptional all-around game and Hydeia Depp was really good on the defensive side of the ball,” said Stinson.

“Emily Alexander made several shots, and Taylor Phelps had, by far, her best game of the summer.  We were unselfish, we were able to push the ball in transition, and really played inside-out.  It was really a nice team effort and a nice way to finish the week.”

Glasgow High School also competed in junior varsity action last week.µ

The Lady Scotties JV team ended up in a 17-17 tie with South Warren at the Barren County event.

However, Glasgow rallied to knock off Warren East by a score of 23-6.

The Lady Scotties will be back in action on Monday and Tuesday, June 18-19, when they host a team camp.

All games will be played at Glasgow Middle School and Highland Elementary.
