The Glasgow golf teams each picked up wins on Wednesday.
The Scotties and Lady Scotties picked up wins over Allen County-Scottsville in 9-hole matches at Glasgow Country Club.
The Lady Scotties topped the Lady Patriots 166 to 179.
Kylie Foushee led Glasgow with a 40 on the par-35 front nine. Kristen Wilkinson shot a 41, Laura Beth Harris added a 42, Blair Dennison fired a round of 43 and Shannon Bishop shot a 44.
“We played from the men’s tees today and the big reason we did that was to get ready for that kind of distance at the regional and state tournament,” Lady Scotties coach Mike Harris said. “We had too many double bogies. Each girl probably had two holes that they can definitely improve on.
“But overall, I thought we played pretty good.”
The Lady Scotties have one regular season tournament left, which is this Saturday at the Henry Clay Invitational. The girls regional tournament is set for Sept. 29 at Rolling Hills in Russellville.
“They’ve been challenged,” Harris said. “They weren’t pleased with their scores today. I think that gives them the incentive to go out and work on some things to get better over the next three weeks.”
The Scotties shot 161 as a team to top the Patriots on the back nine.
Clint Hall led Glasgow with a 39 and Cameron Branham added a 40. Jordan Daniel and Andrew Wade each shot a 41 while Steely Harris added a 42. Corey Wooten shot a 46.
“We didn’t play as good as we had been playing,” Scotties coach James Neal said. “Some of them played pretty good, others not as good.
“We’ve got to play better than that in the regional tournament.”
The Scotties are back in action Saturday when they host the Glasgow Invitational.
Saturday’s field consists of Glasgow, Barren County, Caverna, Monroe County, Bowling Green, Greenwood, Franklin-Simpson, Allen County-Scottsville, Warren East and Russellville. Things get underway at 1 p.m.
“This should be a good warm-up to give us an idea where we’re at heading into the regional,” Neal said.
