Hall tabbed Scotties’ hoops coach By JOHN VERSER Glasgow Daily Times GLASGOW — Jeff Hall, a former head coach at Allen County-Scottsville and a member of the University of Louisville’s 1986 national championship basketball team, was named Glasgow High School’s head basketball coach Friday morning at a press conference.
Hall comes to the Scotties from Fairview High School, his alma mater, where he was an assistant coach. In addition to ACS, Hall has head coaching experience at Fern Creek, Ashland and Rose Hill Christian. He took both Ashland and Rose Hill Christian to the state tournament. Hall graduated from Louisville and was drafted by the Indiana Pacers in the sixth round of the 1986 NBA Draft. He was the 118th overall pick. The Fairview standout averaged more than 10 points a game for the Cardinals in 1986, when UL won the national championship. Hall is still in the top 10 all-time for UL in best free throw percentage for a career, coming in ninth at 81.2 percent. His 88.7 percentage for the 1985-86 season is still fifth-best on the team’s all-time list. Hall led the Cardinals in free throw percentage his final two seasons. Hall succeeds John Tinsley, who resigned as the Scotties coach on June 20. Tinsley was 34-49 in three years at Glasgow. GHS was 16-13 in the 2007-08 season and advanced to the first round of the Fourth Region Tournament.
