Anderson shoots 160 in Junior Amateur Qualifier
BOWLING GREEN —Tompkinsville’s Matthew Anderson shot a two-round 160 to finish 29th at the 2008 USGA Junior Amateur Qualifying at Bowling Green Country Club.
Anderson shot a first round 81 and finished with a 79.
The top three qualified while the next two are alternates. Dustin Korte of Metropolis, Ill., shot a 146 to win the event. Tomas Cocha of Salta, Argentina, and Blaine Woodruff of Acworth, Ga., each shot a 149 to tie for second place.
Barren boys golf meeting set for July 8
Anyone interested in playing boys golf at Barren County High School is encouraged to attend an informational meeting in the high school gym on Tuesday, July 8, at 4 p.m.

BCMS football practice begins July 14
The Barren County Middle School football team will begin practiing on July 14 from 6-8 p.m. at the Jackie B. Browning Little League Football Field. Cleat orders may be made at Hibbett’s in Glasgow.

Stockton hosts hoops camp July 14-16
Brandon Stockton, who was the state’s Mr. Basketball while prepping at Glasgow High School and went on to play at the University of Kentucky, will host a Shooting Stars Basketball Camp July 14-16 at Glasgow High School.
The camp runs from noon-4 p.m. each day and is limited to the first 75 campers. The cost to attend is $50 per camper. The camp is open to boys and girls age 7-18.
Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt and an evaulation card. The camp also includes daily contests and prizes, guest speakers and personalized skill assessments.
