On the last day of school in May, principal John Stith promised students at Hiseville Elementary a “splashing” surprise if they were able to meet summer reading goals. This August, more than 40 students had met the challenge. The reading “Olympians” were awarded a gold medal, treated to pizza and a swimming party at the YMCA. Summer reading paid for 44 Hiseville Elementary students to meet their Accelerated Reader goal during the summer.
