It’s a case of sabotage
GCA presents something sinister

GLASGOW —
Glasgow Christian Academy students will present the comedy/mystery/dinner theater “The Case of the Sinister Senior Sabotage,” this weekend at Calvary Baptist Church.
The play is about a group of high school seniors who have decided to give their school a gift in recognition of their last year attending the school, but they can’t agree on what type of gift they should give.
After much arguing, the students finally settle on a gift, but before it can be presented to school officials, it is stolen.
It is up to the audience to solve the mystery.
“We decided this year to do something a little different and include the audience this time,” said Donna Botts, director.
When everyone realizes the gift has been stolen, a police inspector is called in to help solve the mystery along with the audience. The mystery is solved in the last scene, she said.
The students have been working on the play for more than two months, and according to Jeanna Smith, a GCA freshman, rehearsals have been somewhat nerve wracking, but fun, too.
Smith plays the role of Maggie Henderson.
“She’s the really smart and know-it-all brown-noser of the senior class,” Smith said.
Joining Smith as a member of the cast is Caleb Young, also a GCA freshman, who plays the role of Paul Sanders.
“He’s a senior and he wants to be a chef when he grows up and he really likes food,” Young said.
Those who plan to see the play can expect it to be funny, but also suspenseful, too, Young said. “It has some twists and turns and unexpected things in it,” he said.
The play will open Friday at 6 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church on Columbia Ave-nue. A second performance will be presented Saturday, also at 6 p.m. Both shows are dinner/theater productions.
Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for children 10 and under.
Tickets may be purchased at the school.
