There are certain things in life that we like to commemorate with celebrations, such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and retirements.
Those are typical celebratory events, but sometimes we glorify other occurrences that are a little out of the ordinary, such as high mileage on a vehicle.
I recently noticed just how many miles I have put on my car in a short time, and I have to admit I was a bit shocked. I just wasn’t aware I had put that many miles on my car.
As I stared at the odometer, I remembered an instance a former co-worker shared with me.
She and her children were traveling down a highway when her car reached the 100,000 mile mark.
Her young son thought they should commemorate the moment by doing something special.
He told her, “Momma, let’s leave a black mark on the road!”
