Gloria S. Johnas
BELLEVUE, Wash. – Gloria S. Johnas, 72, of Bellevue, Washington, passed away peacefully on Nov. 8, 2013, with loved ones by her side.
Gloria S. Johnas was born on July 7, 1941, in Glasgow, to Dorothy Lee (Sidwell) and Estille F. Craig. She was raised and educated in Glasgow, where she graduated from Glasgow High School and went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in medical technology from Western Kentucky University. She married Harvey J. Johnas on Dec. 23, 1970 and shortly after they moved to Washington. She worked at University of Washington Medical Center before her son, Craig was born. Gloria put others first, had a heart of gold, was sharp as a tack, strong in her faith and loved to laugh. She is survived by her loving husband, Harvey Johnas, her son, Craig Johnas (Julie), and grandson. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Donald F. Craig. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at Sacred Heart Church, 9460 NE 14th Street, Bellevue, WA 98004. A committal ceremony will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Evergreen Health Foundation Hospice Services or Evergreen Health Foundation Cancer Services.
Charles E. Rogers
SPRINGHILL, Tenn. – Charles E. Rogers, 78, of Springhill, Tenn., died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at his residence in Springhill, Tenn.
Born in Barren County, he was the son of the late Raymond and Wilma Lloyd Rogers. He was a construction worker having worked for James Norris Gray Construction and Ernest Simpson Construction and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Arlene Blakeway Rogers, of Springhill, Tenn.; two daughters, Susan Gates, of Mebane, N.C., and Gena Rogers, of Springhill, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Jennifer Roberts and Kristi Hiott, of North Carolina; four great-grandchildren; one grand dog, Maki; two sisters, Margie Lyons (husband Bill), and Martha Phipps (husband Butch), both of Glasgow; five nephews and nieces; and a brother-in-law, Fred Skipworth, of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Skipworth, and a nephew, Freddie Dale Skipworth Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Nazarene Church on Lexington Drive. Visitation will be at the church Saturday from noon until time for the service. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is assisting the family.
